What is biodiesel? 

 

Biodiesel is a renewable diesel fuel substitute.

It can be made from a variety of natural oils and fats. 

Biodiesel is made by chemically combining any natural oil or fat with an alcohol such as methanol or ethanol. 

Methanol has been the most commonly used alcohol in the commercial production of biodiesel. 

In Europe, biodiesel is widely available in both its neat form (100% biodiesel, also known as B100) and in blends with petroleum diesel.

European biodiesel is made predominantly from rapeseed oil (a cousin of canola oil). 

In the United States, initial interest in producing and using biodiesel has focused

on the use of soybean oil as the primary feedstock mainly because the United States

is the largest producer of soybean oil in the world.

What We do!

 

We are a Kuala Lumpur based company and we turn used cooking oil into biodiesel.

We have set up a facility where we filter and process the used cooking oil into something that can be readily made into biodiesel.

The cooking oil from restaurants, street sellers and other users can be turned into cleaner-burning biodiesel fuel.

Since starting in February 2012 in a small facility just south of Kuala Lumpur, we buy used cooking oil from nearly 225 restaurants and street sellers in our region. 

Before the end of the year we expect to have 300 restaurants and street sellers under contract.

Still gaining our foothold in the market, but in less than three years we process and sell as much as 150,000 liter of Biofuel per month.

“That was oil that was being thrown away, “This way, it gets recycled.”

The process is relatively simple.

The dirty oil is pumped from the truck into the holding tanks, where it is heated so that the water, food pieces and other contaminants can be filtered out.

The filtered product will be separate from glycerin and then be converted into fuel.

“Every drop we made goes to the Biofuel industry”.

Of course, the restaurants have caught on that their waste is now a hot commodity and charge for it.

But that’s better than just being waste.
